Such straight trees

I will never forget the place 

For as long as I live here in my mind it will sit 

It will be there when I think of the years in which I grew up and matured

From that young girl searching for her meaning 

To the young woman who found all of her strength 

It encompasses it all 

It was my home from home 

My go to 

My soul felt relaxed and at ease 

Surrounded by those straight tall trees and that vast sea

The smell of the air is one of my favourites and the night skies my most treasured

The storms there were purely liberating 

No other sky crashed more or lit up like this place 

This place had it all 

Late nights with friends and bike rides to the sea 

Cocktails with straws and everyone around with smiles 

Laughter and adventure and experiences 

Sunny days and relaxing evenings 

Restaurants and bars 

The rain would clear any conscience and the birds song is never forgotten 

The flowers grew every year and the colours were beautiful 

Family times and friendship times 

Memories of those who have passed will always remain 

Relationships that have been and gone and those which have stood the test of time 

All wrapped up in a bow 

Such a long part of my life 

Such a glorious chapter that’s so sad to end 

But in the ending comes the realisation 

This all happened 

I was there eating fries on the beach with mayo and red 

I was laying on the beach with a cigarette 

I was tanning and laughing and playing busted 

Watching films on 5inch tv screens

Hangovers in tents that survived apocalyptic weather 

Karaokes and dance nights

Trying the foods and enjoying the moments

The pools and the shops 

The bakery and the cinema 

Crying when we left 

So happy to return year on year
